There needs to be a mod where the Sathanas's primary attack is to grab stuff and spear it.

So fourteen years and we almost have the arm animation? It's a real shame |V| didn't implement such a major thing into their engine.
I'm wondering how are you planning to tackle the rift effect. It would be SO awesome!
Oh guys, use that [ url ][ img ][ /img ][ /url ] :/

Wanna have and see if this can be adapted for the Vorlon Dreadnaugh's main gun in TBP...

testing 1 2 3

(texture is ksp, need to make a lowpoly model to use farther out since the horizon isn't far off, also possibly nebula for atmospheric distance fog? need to test that, also need to figure out what that rgb-noise-like artifacting is and how to expunge it)

Wow, that reminds me of the FS2 intro. :P

Re: A celebration of Freespace
cool shot.
not sure if you'll be able to pull what you want with nebula pofs, wont that affect the lower asteroid/planet as well?

Re: A celebration of Freespace
That's what I want - a long-distance fog effect (like you normally get in the nebula, but fading out over many klicks instead of the default) to simulate an atmosphere. I won't be using poofs, that would look odd.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
That's perfectly possible to do right now. Just don't use any pofs and increase the fog's distance. It has a very big problem though. Ships will be badly rendered (will have the color of the fog) and they will pop up stupidly.

A massive rewrite of the nebula code would be in need, but there is no one to do this job, unfortunately.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Meh, there are problems with the implementation (popping up at extreme distances, discolored when high up) but it'll work for my purposes.

Did someone say procrastination? I too like to procrastinate, so here's a retextured Hades.
