Author Topic: Shivan Instalations?  (Read 2774 times)

Anyone know of any high quality shivan instalations that are not listed in the Wiki? Im looking for something large an well armed. The SI Acridon http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/SI_Acridon would be perfect but its related to an existing campain and quite frankly the model and textures are abit dated.

There aren't many, and I wouldn't worry about a public asset already being used. That's why they're public.

Ewww...

There's no author listed, so you may have to find that out or just make a note in the credits, but other than that there shouldn't be any problems. Other than the fact that the model just isn't that good by modern standards. Unfortunately there is a HUGE dearth of hi-poly Shivan installations, or installations in general.

Maybe the SI Arachnas?  I've attached the version we're using for Scroll, which has additional turrets.

Inferno is using a HTL Arachnas, but we won't be releasing that until our project is complete.

While i was hoping to find something Jugernaut sized, that version of the Arachnas will do nicely for what i have in mind. Thanks very much.

Well, you could always re-size it in the latest version of PCS2 if you need.

Well it looks like Goober might have inadvertently released it early! :drevil:

EDIT: It looks "upside down" compared to the original model but I guess that's intentional.

Oops. :nervous:  I seem to have forgotten the chain of events that led to Scroll acquiring the HTL model.

Well, the cat's out of the bag now...
But really, the Old Arachnas should suffice.

Actually, I like the design of the old one better, this one's...droopy :P.

Heh. What a bummer.  :)
I guess that community will be gratefull for a HTL Shivan installation, as it's the only one out here.
The design is rather awkward though, I prefered the original's "feel".
Maybe somebody will someday make a HTL Arachnas which would be closer to original and thus usable as a drop-in replacement.

I like the new one realy. Though i modified its armaments for my purpouses. I replaced the BFReds on the arms with LReds and the LRed on the top with a BFRed (in my mission it will be positioned so that is facing the bulk of the assault) Aditionaly i turned the 4 blob turrets around the top beam into "multipurpurpouse beams". I armed each both with an SAAA and an MRed (my Mrded is simply an SRed with the refire rate of an LRed). This makes them effective against all targets.
