You should take a pic of the lower poly one as well to show the difference :)

Oh when you package up the maps add that EA beam glow, seems I've never received a copy of it.

First test of the new staff pack went well on my laptop. I forgot to include your shockwave though so had to patch it already :D
We have a good FRED build that should be fine for releasing, just the main FSOpen build that needs fixing up now.

Now it's official. We're going to rename the Lindos to 'big ass Tie fighter'. Of course it's going to be a fighter too.

We won't change the size though. Too much trouble. We're just increasing the size of all EA Carrier, so the Lind...erm... 'big ass Tie fighter' can land in their hangar bays.

BTW No, Inferno doesn't have ridiculous big ships!

Shots from the new staff build:

The current staff build is the first beta of the final release build (what you lot get) and weighs in at 211mb as a complete stand alone (no additional files required)
Final install size is over 504mb.

No 211MB compressed, 504mb extracted.

Yeah the Scorpion is there, like in R1.

That's for INFSCP_Core, which includes all chapter 1 mission files and most of the overall mods.

When you release, would you please have seperate downloads for the linux people?

There's no linux support as we can't compile builds for it ourselves and can't test bugs on it.

That doesn't mean that an individual using linux can't use Inferno. They can compile and use the preproc def to enable the inferno features. Unless that is you have modifications that are not in CVS. Also, there are a number of linux users such as in the cross platform development thread. I am sure recruiting some one there would not be improper.

There's nothing stopping Linux users from downloading it and repackaging it in a Linux friendly archive/format with different game and fred exes. I don't see the point of another 5 hour upload for what would be used by a small minority, when the bulk of the staff can't test it or work on it.

If someone wants to do that and can provide a download link, I'll even put it on our download page, but I can't officially support something the majority of the staff members don't have or use.

When we provide patches and additional content, such as about 20 or so ships I have ready for converting over to our textures we'll only be providing one version, as it makes things far easier for us to keep things up to date.
