If ShivanSpS is correct you can make the high end shockwaves appear simply by going into your Freespace2 folder and removing everything from the Data\Effects folder. (I'd recommend backing it up to somewhere outside your FS2 folder in case there is more to it than that).

Do you have the Original FS2 installed on your machine? You need to get the original installed for the SCP update to work

Thanks a lot, Shivan_SPS. When I got started with FS2 one of the biggest reasons why I stayed with HotU for so long was fear that I would mess something up (which, of course, I did once moved to retail and SCP). This download will make it a lot easier to get users on the road to ultimate FS2 sensei-ness. I'll see if I can seed. Of course, it will naturally be outdated quickly, but it should be fairly easy for people to just follow the updates and replace the files one-by-one.

About the outdating thing... dont worry about... see, this pack have a month and still updated... discharging the CVS Build ofcurse... Until today there is not any other addon to this pack, i see many projects under develoment so, I can  see a VPs updates in the next month, which Port 3.0 and ST reborn, that is when this pack going to be outdated... but is not too important.

I Planing to give a second vercion of this pack in a few months, which the Updated stuff of that moment, I not know when, i will see, but at least until July you can still which this pack...

Does this HAVE to go into C:\Games?

It should work from anywhere, as long as there is no space in the directory names. D:\Blah\Games\SpaceSim\Freespace would be fine, but not D:\Blah\Games\Space Sim\Freespace. The reason is that using mod directories does not support spaces, so while the game itself would work, you would lose out on additional content unless you place it in the main folder and thus risk a number of problems cropping up when using different mods.

Whenever I try to run this, it crashes whether I'm trying Freespace 2 with no frills, with the fancy stuff, or either of the mods. It crashes right after the SCP screen with the exploding ship pops up. I also downloaded that other rar with all the .....stuff but am unsure of what to do with it. What's somewhat odd is that I had the 3-disc version with some SCP stuff running fine (though there were problems with ships jumping in) but I deleted it when I downloaded this. So if anyone could help me that'd be great because I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

After downloading this and playing the Derelict SCP Mod (which Voices) i hear the voices in game but not the briefing, debriefing etc voices, is there somthing obvious that im missing here?

I checked the folder and the correct files are there (whats in the zip file)

BTW, I think someone oughta sticky this thread, its a really helpful thing having the SCP all nicely bundled together....... I wish it was around when I first installed, gave me supreme headaches.

It's not stickied because the sticky at the top of the forum gives links to ALL the methods to download FS2.

Plus this download is likely to become obsolete when the next official build is ready so someone would forever have to sticky/unsticky this thread and the new one.

i installed the game: nice

but everytime theres a explosion (except fighter explosions) the game starts to go slow and sometimes even crashes. any help?

I'm guessing mv_adveffects is the culprit. Try removing that from the mediavps directory (or just renaming the file to a different non-.vp extension, probably easier since you won't forget where you put it then). Unless you have a top of the line system, that particular .vp will bring your system to it's knees, and the high end explosion shockwaves in particular are notorious memory hogs.
