I'm not sure if this is some kind of mistranslation, like "my hovercraft is full of eels", or just strange.

As long as I'm getting enough of A and B, I'm not all that bothered about C ;)

Well, I get absolutely zero of A and B, so I try to pitifully make up for it with moderate amounts of C.

Hehe, to be honest, I stopped anything to do with recreational forms of 'B' about a decade ago, short of standing downwind from some hoodies anyway ;)

I saw a kitten. Kitten rolled over, and mewed at me, giving me puppykitten eyes. I was gonna go pet it, but then my friend bulldozed me aside and went 'KITTY!!!' at the top of her voice, and went all melty on it.

There's something about kittens that brings out the big soppy in most people.

Indeed. It's probably the world's most deadly weapon.

There's something about kittens that brings out the big soppy in most people.
Puppies have the same effect, but kittens generally get a racial multiplier to the soppy bonus.

Re: Whatever Happens In Your Life V: The Final Frontier
I think the difference is, to my mind, that puppies are:

"HELLO!!! I'm a Puppy and I want to be your friend! Fuss me! Fuss me!'

Whereas a kitten is:

"Yo, get over here and fuss me, cos I ain't coming to you"

And the fact that people feel that way towards creatures that are not human and prefer those "useless but cute" features when they breed them, like flat faces and small full grown sizes and feel the emotion of "cute" towards non-humans seems to defy what people call evolution. Maybe it means there is more out there than evolution, even though many won't open their minds enough to accept that. If evolution is all there is, then what a sad existance this is and it would make the universe simpler and not as interesting and would lessen the chances of a life after death. There is a good saying "there is more in heaven and earth then is dreamed of in our philosophy".

I love cats and think they are cute.

I can say this without it being considered off topic in this thread since people say there is no point of the thread and thus this topic can't go off topic, I suppose ;)

To be honest, I prefer the good old fashioned 'moggy' to 'purebreeds', they tend to have far longer lives and better health, kind of the same with purebreed dogs compared to bitsas.

In honesty, the there's a difference between breeding and evolution, it's unnatural selection, if you like, but in many ways, it does prove the point of evolution, that if one factor of an animal is multiplied through repeated breeding, like the flat face, that it will become a more predominant feature of that breed. Humans tend to take it to extremes, where animals have trouble breathing etc, but it needs to be remembered that, in the wild, such a set-up would soon mark them up as a dead end, it's only because of human intervention that cats such as that continue to exist, same with long-haired breeds such as Persians.

Most modern cats are related to their ancient Egyptian ancestors, which don't look all that different to todays cats. To be honest, Dogs are more interesting, because no other species has such as vast range of shapes and sizes that are all, technically, inter-breedable.

15 hours until I can attempt to "snipe" a mislisted item on eBay. ;7 And I can't wait until my speakers arrive in a few days. In the family, we already own a ****load of good speakers...

Advent Mini's from the 1960s-70s
Polk SDA-1's
Polk Monitor 5B's (I think)
Polk SDA-CRS+'s
Polk SDA-SRS 1.2TL's
Polk Monitor 5 Series 2's

Hoping to add a pair of Polk Monitor 7C's too. Those would be "inserted" between the Monitor 5B's and the CRS+'s. Other than that, I'm eying an early model SDA-CRS's, as well as a pair (or two) of Polk Monitor 5JR+'s. All items I'm looking to snipe.
NGTM-1R: Currently considering spending the rest of the day in bed cuddling.
GTSVA: With who...?
Nuke: chewbacca?
Bob-san: The Rancor.

You clearly have no idea about how evolution works.

Err High Max, I know I said this thread has no point, but I didn't mean it had no facts either.

Emotion =/= Evolution

How on earth did you draw a parallel between them?
