Playing pep band is the worst thing ever. Nothing is worse than having to spend 4 extra hours at school, until 10 PM, after having practiced for three hours everyday that week, and then having to practice twelve hours the next day.

Are you kidding?  I love band!  We actually have a marching show, and we play music that I like, so I look forward to it. (maybe it's because we only practice an hour every day and no Saturday practice, just festivals).  Plus, I have friends in the band.

Basketball pep band, well, that sucks.

And I finished my college application essay. It probably sucks. I'll have to revise for a few days. Sigh.

Yep. In essence, all we have is a marching show. Playing the same 10 minutes of music and marching the same 116 sets of drill for ~500 hours of practice per year gets tedious. 

Competitions aren't bad, but they're far and few compared to the practices. And pep band is just about the most pointless part of it. We play the same 3 tunes at games over and over, just because we never have time to practice them, and no one wants to listen to Shostakovitch at a football game. And I already spend more time around the guys in the band than my family, so there's no issues there. Still, everything BUT the pep band part is all right. If I played brass, I'd go out for corps after high school, but I'm on sax instead.

I filled my water bottle up with tap water to substitute for drinking water during class break this afternoon. The reason is that there is no nearby water-cooler (none that I know of) within 7 minutes and 30 seconds' walking distance from Block 53 of Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

It tasted metallic.

Depends on where youre from. Tap water in my city smells like pool water (chlorine) and tastes like rot. Tap water wherever water bottles are bottled is much better.

Lead plumbing = bad.

But I've mostly given up bottled mineral water for tap water these days. Or water from a water cooler. If it's free. And free from nasty bugs, etc.

I recently got a statement in the mail from the city saying it was "technically" safe to drink but it is not up to code and they are required by law to tell us.  Hmmm... I wonder WHY it's a law if it's safe?

Hmmmmm. I'd probably give it a good boil for a maximum of 10 minutes before use/consumption, just to be extra safe. Maybe use Instachlor tablets if you know what you're doing.

Yeah I would boil if I was using it. Instead I usually drop a pretty penny on bottled water every time I'm at the store.  I'm thinking about filters but I'm not sure how effective that would be.
