and the blu-ray thing was yet another "format update" (read, encryption key change) that breaks compatibility and attempts to sell new software/players. it took me more than an hour to figure out how to update my software to work. it took about 30 seconds for them to tell me the new version for $80 would work though. funny thing is, i... obtained the new version to check. it didn't work either.

About the whole blu-ray thing. It isn't like someone held a gun to your head and said, "You most make update from DVD." This is Sony. You know, the same people who made "rootkit" a household word in '05. I mean, seriously, as famous as Sony is for screwing over its customers, am I the only that basically laughed and said, "Screw you guys. I've got DVD's, an internet connection, and a TB hard-drive," when they rolled blu-ray out?

That clip reminded me of the times I used to sit with my late grandfather back when i was kid, and watch the Tom & Jerry movie (on VHS) with him.
Christmas is going to feel like less of a chore now.

there are tons of valid reasons other than publishers clinging to them as a form of DRM that i don't have time to list right now. i'll do it tomorrow if anyone still cares.

There's a reason why, in virtually every online game I play, I either play exclusively with friends or find a dedicated server run by a no-nonsense group. While I appreciate the ability to curse and swear as much or more than the next person, I can't stand racist/homophobic bull****, and I like to play in environs free of it.

In fact, in every server I ever moderated (and I'm up to over a dozen in various games over the years now), I perma-banned people for it. You want to act like that, I and every other reasonable person wants nothing to do with you - ever.

Hmm, I think it may be because there's hardly any hosting abilities other than "create game, end game" on consoles.

I'm going over the docs to see how threads are passed to each CPU... there's a set of general purpose registers that (I assume) is used to hold data for the ALU. I don't know if there's a stack pointer per CPU (which I assume there is) or if there's just one SP, I haven't gotten to that part of the doc's yet.
