I think he works in water quality control. I remember some old posts in WHIYL where he gave very good technical advice on how to store a fish and a sample of water that had been polluted with chlorine. Also, Environment Canada uses fathead minnows to assess the damage from contamination to fish reproductivity capacity in their tests. There must be an enforcement branch in that kind of work, 'cause people polluting don't really appreciate it when you come to take your samples.
