My AC is now leaking water when it turns off. Yay. Also most of my hair is now gone. I always have them go too far when getting a cut.

AC units shouldn't have water in them. It probably has a condensation drip tray which is probably now full. Pull it out and empty it? Alternatively, if no drip tray, its condensation dripping from another part of the unit, so it could be a clogged drain line.

There's definitely no drip tray on the bottom, as that's where the filter goes. I'll try to look deeper. I keep thinking I might hear little drips, but I haven't found any direct evidence of water since changing out the filter (which was BADLY overdue).

If the filter was that bad, you could have a lot of crud on the evaporator coils. Normally condensate drips from the coils onto a collection tray which drains into a drain pipe which either dumps the water out of the house, or into the sewer line.

If the condenser coils are filthy from a dirty air filter, that can result in dirty condensate that can plug up the drain line.

Try to find the drain pipe would be my suggestion. Is this a central air unit or a window unit?

Eh, some of the newer A/C window units have been under pressure from US govt regulations for higher efficiencies. Meaning, they use the condensate water to help cool off the condenser coil by letting the condenser blower/fan kick up the water onto the radiator fins.

But yes, evidence does show that there is a clogged drain line (or absence of one). Also if it's a window unit you might have to make sure that it tilts slightly outward of the window so the water drains out.

Those are always fun when you have the heat pump models in winter. You turn on the unit only to hear the whack whack whack of the fan hitting ice in the tray.

Just got an email from Newegg stating that the GTX 970 was the subject of some class-action lawsuit, and saying that they'd follow up with more details at some point. So I guess I could get some token amount of money or something. Woohoo!

I just got something similar about the AMD R9. Hopefully whatever it is ends up being anything substantial.

Without reading it, I'm assuming it's about the bait-and-switch with the last .5 GB of vram being a much lower grade? $30 actually sounds surprisingly high for a class action payout. Usually it's like a couple bucks or a coupon.

Talking about ram, I'm on the lookout for some 8gb ddr3l sodimms for my alienware laptop.

Thinking corsair or kingston but open to advice or direction as it's been 9 years since I did any ram shopping.
