...? And what would using that POF do while in-game vs displaying in FRED?

And FYI, just loading the background editor and selecting the Starfield.pof, it shows for me, even without this file, but that may be a factor of difference in hardware.

Preliminary testing so far hasn't exampled any problems with this. So long as other folks can confirm it not having any issues, I don't see why we wouldn't be able to include it.
