I don't know if I'm breaking some sort of forum rule here (I don't think I am, but I might be... I didn't read the fine print), but I thought I'd make a fan thread for Mina Taylor. Seeing as hers is one of the best, most convincing, voices I've EVER heard, in ANY game. A character I fell in love with immediately. So yeah, post all your comments (preferably positive ones) about Taylor here!

Disclaimer: I haven't played WiH (and I don't think I will until the VA is out for it), so I don't know if she's in it, but I do hope we get to see/hear her again!

Mina Taylor is the name of the character, not the voice actress. She was Alpha 3 in Blue Planet: AoA. She was voiced by Kathleen Conahan.

I loved her moment as The Woobie during the first Earth mission. (Of course, I like Woobies in general so... >.>)

The voice actors (and dialogue writers) did an excellent job with both Corey and Taylor. Felt like I was actually flying in a wing with some people I'd really like to hang out with. Kudos.

The Woobie is a character who elicits sympathy from the audience by suffering. The TVTropes page explains in more detail.

Kathleen here, I just got linked to this thread and now I'm blushing like a freakin schoolgirl. I'd never done any voice acting before AoA, so all this praise is kind of overwhelming... Thank you, seriously, I'm glad you think I added something good to the project. I had a lot of fun voicing Mina, especially the in-mission blurbs because I got to make those up  Playing the game is pretty weird though, especially when I accidentally shoot Mina and she yells at me...

I can tell you had a lot of fun voicing Mina. It seems you really managed to get into the character her to make her very convincing with your own interpretation.

I too loved the VA from both Corey and Taylor. I also figured out that because they are integral to the story, they are immortal. Always love immortal teammates in games

No, it is we who should be thanking you! As I mentioned somewhere in another thread, I wouldn't have liked the campaign half as much if it wasn't for the voice acting (yours particularly). So yeah, once again, brilliant job!

And yes, it would feel weird to have yourself shouting at you... lol!

I kept alternates to a couple things, but most of the time when I didn't submit a recording it's because it SUCKED. I had more than a few "THIS is what I sound like when I'm agitated?! Why didn't anyone tell me?"
