Hmm...well, things are working much more smoothly now, but I did run into one or two lines marked as "completed" that didn't seem to be boosting properly.
I agree we still have had afew boosting problems, but they were on the line with boosters that were spaced out at the maximum possible to save resources, and as such with faster carts seemingly needing more power, this wasn't working. We have rolled out boosters both double in frequency and ammount on the place of line that we found was effected thisafternoon.
The carts were most likely me testing, as carts entering the system through a normal way *should* not collide with other carts.
I also have to wonder how the new system works if you're coming in manually with your own cart...will you still wind up at the central station?
You will either end up at the central station under spawn (most likely) or new trashmania station, which has platforms for all the destinations central station has. However, I am working on sorting this slowly.
To be perfectly honest, I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the whole rapid-transit concept. I mean, it's really cool from a technical standpoint, and I know rhx has put a ton of work into it...but I dunno, it seems to take most of the fun out of getting around the world. I remember first joining the server and being overwhelmed by the different rail lines, which meant that I wound up randomly cruising around them, finding all sorts of cool things people had built. I felt a sense of accomplishment when I finally had most of the system down, but the new system removes even the possibility of that. In addition, the fact that you're whizzing by everything so fast means that it's very difficult to hop out if something you're passing happens to catch your eye; I wound up finding a lot of cool spots that way.
I understand what you're saying

but in reality most new players just get warped to "cool stuff" and I think that most inter-area transport these days seems to be done with warps. I thought a fast, automatic railway gives the convenience of a warp, but still feels legitimate and does give more of a view of the server than a simple warp.
I also found the system of picking up carts, then having my cart accidently derp off down the line whilst trying to get into it rather irritating, (while trying to switch lines) so I thought this also solves that problem.
I would like carts to be normal speed, buf if we are to cut back on warps without having to take say 10 minutes to get from for ex trashmania2 to fenris the carts NEED to be fast to prevent frustration.
The slow cart network was good, but never really used for serious, regular transportation.
If you have any problems with boosting etc please make a note of which line, and about where it is so we can investigate and solve the problem.
