Got the first good night's sleep I've had in a long while, after two consecutive all-nighters and a couple weeks of little sleep. I usually have my best dreams about now.
This was an incredibly long one, and most of the beginning I can't recall vividly, although I remember it alternating between life in a very geometrically weird version of my dorm and a hack-and-slash RPG. I'm not entirely sure when it changed, might as well have been an entirely different dream, but later on I was modding FS, and testing this mission I had made along with some models. It involved mostly the open-hangar ship at 0:48
here. I was in an environment suit, like the one used in BP and VD except much lighter (think Shepard's armor) and with one large mass driver which was basically a much lighter, shoulder-mounted version of the Maxim. I maneuvered a fighter- it was like a Persie but less aerodynamic, more industrial- near the hanger, got out, and started shooting the space marines and anyone in the flight crew that was shooting at me. After that, I blew a door open (a large bulkhead, like 4 meters tall, it was sort of like flying into the Karnak) and went down this long corridor, shooting more space marines, until I got to this huge open area with giant glass viewports everywhere that was near the center of the ship. Must have been around 150-200 meters wide, and I was sure it was near the center of the ship. Then someone else in an environment suit came out and we shot at each other except he had missiles. Some light Furies that knocked me around and some homing ones that I usually managed to dodge.
I also remember that there was the option of staying in my fighter, blasting through some much larger bulkheads and dealing with some flak turrets, then deuling with the same "end boss" but in fighters, and around/outside the ship instead of in that open arena. I remember thinking of what I would do to make sure the two options used different skills but were overall of similar difficulty.
Also, in my dreams I usually go from one place in time, inexplicably, to another. I specifically remember doodling concepts about what the corridors looked like, I also remember texturing them, and I remember actually playtesting it. It was like a glimpse at every stage of the design process.
And damn I want to mod this **** now, playing through it was epic.
