I altered the tbl a bit to work with FS, since I use custom weapons and an armor.tbl, but it should work. Well, except for one thing but I'll leave that as a surprise. :7

Well, my ships so far have all been from the same manufacturer. Sometime I'll develop a new style and naming conventions for another manufacturer.

I agree with headdie, if you stretch the nose bit, it does share a ressemblance with the Raven.

Assault Fighter?

Dogfighter this time. A bit smaller and slower than the Ion but much more maneuverable (about as much as a Persie). Of course this is a table thing that anyone can change.

Never heard of the Moldy Crow (I'm not much of a SW nerd although FotG looks epic). Reference pics show a huge and somewhat ugly fuselage though- the Proton is a bit more streamlined. Most of my inspiration comes from ships on the Infinity: The Quest For Earth forums and the Concept Ships blag (an awesome site).

There's not much color near the paint on any of my diffuse maps so recoloring the lot of them shouldn't be that difficult. Also, it looks a bit better once it has a shine and normal map.

Also, UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE, damn texturing goes so much faster when I have free time and no exams, woot

It's the player characters ship in DF1 and 2 though iirc it gets toasted during 2 and replaced by the sleeker though similar designed Raven's Claw.

On the Proton, It's looking good, the block style is a little against how I normally envisage a fighter but it works well all the same.

may I suggest a small color change? I just played a bit with the hue, saturation and curves... IMO it will look better that way and will take it out of the slightly cartoony look it has right now...

As I said, the color scheme is not difficult to change. I may change it on my end, maybe not, I dunno.

Dekker: these are the only 3 so far (the Prominence and teh TF Ion (along with a bunch of random stuff) are both available in my sig).

That normal map is in its very early stages... it's ripped directly from the shinemap, not even resized to get a good 5x5 sample, and weighted way too much, the end result will be more subtle. Shinemap will probably be changed up a bit too

I love the style you're establishing here. Looks almost industrial or something. Like... it's built to destroy. I dunno why, but I don't get that feeling with other FS ships.

And I kinda like the hugely non-subtle normal map, but that's just me.
