Re: What are you working on?
...That looks an awful lot like that Vasudan interceptor that fightermedic made last year.

I said earlier, it's based on the AF Corybant from the model dump of Act 3 of the Ancient-Shivan War. It's the first of many assets created specifically for my campaign/mod.

That looks good but man I think you should try harder to break up the shapes of the lego bricks in your models!

Re: What are you working on?
After more than three years of inactivity, I've decided to release the first pic of the newly-remade version of the hi-poly GTS Hygeia. Showing a two-seater cockpit. A true step towards hi-poly.

I'm back at finishing my model that was the first I ever started three years ago. This time I'm at the right direction of most modelers take, namely being hi-poly.

EDIT: This is not a Shattered Stars ship. It's a FreeSpace ship. Terran support ship GTS Hygeia.

Re: What are you working on?
Since fightermedic has released the textured version of the AF Corybant as the GVF Corybant last January, I've decided to show off my redone GRF Caranayodhin, inspired by both the Corybant and the AF Kato, specifically for my mod I'm working on for long. preliminary GRW small interceptor design.

However, I did take one of my engines from the SC Raguel cruiser and model out of it. The result is nothing taken from other models made by others, even Volition :)

It may be Shivan-like, but rest assured, it's definitely 100% alien-like. With a diamond-shaped cockpit glass and a full "show ship" cockpit with Diaspora-like HUD displays and fightermedic's ones.

As of now, there are three (and six?) more fighters, three bombers, three cruisers, two corvettes, one (or two) frigate(s), four destroyers, one battleship, one carrier, one dreadnought, one juggernaut, two transports, one freighter, one cargo pod, one AWACS, and one support ship to touch on in the GRW Fleet created specifically for the mod.

I'm in the process of texturing it and getting it into game with PBR assets and height/displacement maps, and making it COLLADA-ready.

Re: What are you working on?
A whole bunch of ships 'ere. Nothing particularly special, most of them are basically trash tier, but I noticed that my modeling got better with each ship.

I suck at capships even more than at fighters, but I can't avoid them forever though...

Also, here's a video of some of them in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v87WkWKwM8c&feature=youtu.be

Re: What are you working on?
The release for my "Legion's Demise" campaign is so close I can taste it. . . .

And it tastes like imperfect grammar, but otherwise fun mission design. (I hope)

This is my first campaign so I will release it as an "open beta" don't let that term fool you; It will be VERY polished by that time, I'm just calling it that because I plan on using the feedback and help I get and updating it constantly until It's ready for: "AbsoluteTotalCanNotGetAnyBetterThenThisFullyVoiceActedMostPolishedItCouldPossiblyBe100%PerfectlyBalanced Full Campaign Release"

Nice! I always wanted to be part of this, but no one ever recreated it in actual mission. I guess it's gonna be BoE-type mission, right? Make sure you have specified goals for player, and set majority of fighting warships as background. Big battles tends to be really messy in fanmade campaigns, so try to avoid that.

That's Good advice! (I know because I already took those ideas to heart)

The main mission is divided up into goal-specific segments, with lots of secondary objectives too keep the player busy. Mission time is normally around 17:00-ish minutes.

There is also a short seconded mission after it that's centered around escorting the escaping ships to a GTI rendezvous point, and the GTC Juggernath makes an appearance too!

Re: What are you working on?
On Monday, I reviewed some of the side stories for The Lost Generation - Ashcroft

On Tuesday, I started a draft for a new campaign (not Of Shivans and Men-related), wrote some scenes to develop some characters, the rules for the scenario and the essential plot lines.

Today, I am drew up concepts for 5 missions, out of 12-16.

Tomorrow, I could replay a certain section of the Freespace 2 main campaign for research into canon.

Do I need to be stopped?
