A quick test of the weapon setup and tables.
The model is actually UV mapped and I'm in the process of making textures for it.

Refurbishing all missions for a small-scale release (you might have seen me look for testers elsewhere already)

Now I'm stuck creatively. I'm making 3 separate .pofs - 3 different version of the new blade, with different turret (meshes) setups.
Basically a standard version, an assault version and an escort version.

And I can't decide on what to put. I got a large selection of turrets and possibilities. There's a bunch of small terran turrets and AAf beams, and modulars are the bigger ones.



Variable slots (and possiblilites):
Front beam turret - MGreen (missile launchers),
2 side mounted turrets  -(SGreen beams, torpedo/missile launchers or anti-fighter missiles on the screenshot it has missile/torpedo launchers)
4 wings turrets / top and bottom big turrets - quadripple flak turrets, pulse beams, huge-ass gattling turrets, large multi-purpose turrets, dedicated anti-cap turrets, missile launchers.

I can also use different models for the smaller ones (red)


The screenshot is the (current) setup for the Escort variant ATM - 4 flak cannons on the wings, 2 AF gattling turrets, 1 beam cannon and 2 AF missile launchers.

I can't decide for Assault and Standard. I have been staring at the screen for an hour and can't decide and it's killing me .. perhaps I will have to make more than 3 versions.

In the end I couldn't decide and made 5 different versions:





The anti-fighter variant is untouchable, because 4*4 flak (barrels ROF increase) shreds fighters like NOTHING, and that without the other weapons (which includes super gattlings and AF missiles)

More progress:
Debris and first pass on the UV map done.
The textures needs work, but everything else is working. 99% complete

BTW, if you want to make the fighter-shredder thing different gameplay-wise, you could make a custom Flak weapon that only attacks TAGed ships.

S (standard) - 4x4 flak, 1MBeam, 2 SBeams, 2x2 heavy laser/fusion/plasma/whatever turrets (heavy hitting blobs with more range)
A (assault) - 4x4 flak, 1MBeam, 2 SBeams, 2x1 pulse beam cannon (low-damage, short duration beam cannon. Think lasgun from 40K, but slower RoF)
E (escort) - 4x4 flak, 1MBeam, 2x8 Missile Launcher, 2 Skyguard Gattling Cannons
D (Destroyer) - 4x2 Fusion Mortar, 2x8 Torpedo Launcher, 2x2 TAC cannons (low-power, long range gun)
F () -  4x2 Proton Blaser (improved Terran Turret), 1MGreen, 2x8 Geodess Missiles (swarm), 2x4 pulse beam cannon.

The other weapons are the same: 3x2 Terran Turret, 10 Terran Turret, and 5 AAAf

Since the "wings" on the side are separate objects, I was thinking of maybe a version with sensor pods and similar, but that's maybe for the future

UIMS Hammerhead from the UGSF series (Galaxian 3, Starblade and Star Ixiom).



It's loosely based on the Star Ixiom version, whose length is 800 m, but doubled. As a result, it's more like a frigate in FreeSpace convention.

For some reason, I really like that shape Bryan See. Obviously can't pick out much by way of detail, but I think it's the cutouts on the flat shape. I will steal that particular idea if I ever find a place for it. :p

Yep, three way dry dock that I'm going to use for a shipyard. It is for something specific, a nice simple campaign with an interesting basic premise that I may or may not ultimately do, but I will have plenty of uses for it in other projects (Frontlines for one, and the individual pices, once textured, can be reworked into other sorts of shipyards, I have an idea for that too).

If it's to become a shipyard, how big is it then, and what kind of ships are being manufactured there then- fighters/bombers? As with all these details it looks rather small.

So there's no chance seeing TI anytime soon...ish or...?
