* Shivan Hunter wants to throw his PC out the window, ignite it and smash the smoldering remains with a sledgehammer
I just lost the Descent (regular Descent 1, no D2XXL or other crap) level I've been working on for several days now. Had saved several times and was about to test (I was nearly finished with the whole thing), them tried to move some Jimi Hendrix music from my external HDD to an internal one. Something stopped working- Dolphin (KDE file manager) reported two of my external drive and neither one would respond. So I got impatient and hard-reset the machine (thinking I wouldn't lose anything). Well, it seems DMB2 (Descent level editor) or WINE must have been accessing the level file or something, because when I tried to open the level after the restart, it wouldn't load, throwing up a few nondescript error messages about corrupted data. Unfortunately, DMB2 doesn't seem to keep backups, so there's no way I can retrieve the level now.
I'm just going to start a different one. I've never been any good at remaking something I've lost, since I tend to concentrate more on getting it exactly the way it was than getting it into a playable shape.
