Movie run-time: approximately 2:45.  Worth every minute.

One thing I noticed that was interesting was that the movie didn't use music to build tension as much as it used silence to do the same.  A distinct contrast to other recent movies, notably Inception, that build suspense with liberal application of ominous music.

I saw the same movie, literally less than an hour ago.

Good observation there, I didn't spot that one so clearly. I believe it may have helped if I'd read the book again, since I couldn't remember what on Earth was going on. But this one felt like a proper movie, the characters seemed a little deeper, though at some stages they felt a bit 2D for some reason towards the beginning of the film.

I tell you what though, I didn't like that ending. I knew it was only half a movie, and I guess that's fair enough, but that ending really didn't do it for me.

It's important to feel good about leaving her. I achieve this by altruistic means, make her feel better by making yourself seem like an ass.
Hit on her friends while "drunk", they will either reciprocate, or grass you up. If they choose the latter, simply say you can't help yourself as current GF just doesn't "do it" for you anymore. She will either dump you or work harder to keep you. If she chooses the latter. Then it's time to play the "i don't need no clingy woman cramping my style" card. This is down to individual preference and can take the form of sudden explosive outburts or gradual fading relationship effort.
 
Or you can just let her down honestly and move in with her fit older sister with the nice car.
