Google wants me to create a Google Account to continue logging in to YouTube. They are not giving me an option this time.
If they really want me to get an account so badly, I'd rather do away with them completely until such a time when I see the need to utilise any of their services. I'll do away with a free service too, since I no longer see much use for it.
Some guys on HLP IRC say that Google Maps is useful, but I still refer to an outdated road directory to get around Singapore, not Google Maps. It has only failed me once because I was not looking at it closely.
Google Translator? Pfft, I use BabelFish, and if I actually wanted to know more about a language, I'll take up actual lessons rather than relying on an electronic translator.
Google Mail? What for? I have Hotmail. It serves me well, and I see no reason to change my e-mail provider just because.
Google Android? Nobody in this country uses it, and my family will tear me to bits if I sink a load of cash into such extravagance.
Google Calculator? I can do mental sums pretty nicely. I also have a scientific calculator from Sharp that I bought back in 2004 for school use and it
still works.
Google Dictionary? It doesn't stand a chance against other dictionaries like the 1951-page paperback that I have on my bookshelf. There's also urbandictionary.com, the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary and Wiktionary.
