So I went fartleking for about three miles I generally try to fit in as many 400ft sprints in between running as I can.  Anyway when I got home I sat in the backyard to cool out just in time for a big doe to mosey on by.  Big and healthy looking she was quite the sight. 

Some more 1/285th micro armor I ordered arrived in the post today, a platoon of M-26 Pershings, a battery of M2A1 105mm howitzers, some more CCKW Deuce and a Halfs and a few  WC-57 Dodge scout cars.  Add that to my M4A3E8 company and my other assorted combat team units and I'll have a good force for doing some late ETO and Korea games.   I hope to get em all customized and on the table soon see if I can manage to not get eaten by my coworker's Tigers and Panthers.  If I pick up a company of M5A1s and another of M4A1 (76)Ws in the future then that will give me a force capable of doing most ETO scenarios. 

I actually recently acquired an interesting book analyzing the Sherman vs Panther battles in the Ardennes.  I hadn't really appreciated what an over engineered unreliable ****box the Pzkw Vs where.  Lucky if you could get even 150km out of them before their transmissions suffered a critical failure, and the quality control and materials had pretty much hit rock bottom by the Bulge.

Yes, but the specific symbols depend on accent. Anything I write down is likely to be in Southwestern American English, which does have some slight differences from standard American English.

I've been playing Rome: Total War for the last few days (and X-COM: UFO Defense).  Playing as the Julii Romans, I control Italy from near Rome all the way north, the south-west 3/4 of France, the south half of Germany, the west third of the Balkans, and the east fifth of the Iberian Peninsula.  Gaul is a pitiful city in mid-Spain, Macedon has been destroyed at my hand, the Spanish are begging for mercy, the Britons appease me with cash to avoid a war they know they can't win, and Germany is getting royally ****ed by everyone in the area.  Pretty soon, I'll have all of Europe, and the only real hurdle to that is the Scythians, who control west of Germany.
