Re: What are you working on?
Meanwhile, following folding the bonus mission TLG-J back into the campaign via an easy branch, I am writing Hammer of Light-scripture/mythology which can exist with openly acknowledging any kind "Chariot of Gods"-buisness.

So the Ancients were more like Reptiloids? ;)

Re: What are you working on?
That should have been a "without" (dont drink and post, makes you sloppy); the "without Chariot of the Gods"-stuff makes it extra hard because you have to do "insipiration" and "revelation" without doing encounters with spirits/angels/demons/monsters/gods, and then write it so it can believed.

Re: What are you working on?
(It is actually quite consistent that all three canon species have their main weapons in FS2 oriented around one axis each. - Terrans, lateral; Vasudans, dorsal>ventral; Shivans, anterior>>posterior; notable exceptions being the Hecate and the Demon)

Huh.  That's a very interesting observation.

Re: What are you working on?
It not exactly a non-obvious observation - and as said only works for FS2 as it basically relies on the placemet of anti-capital beams.

And the list of ships it doesn't apply to is actually longer than the Demon and Hecate (but not by much), e.g. there is also retail loadout of the Mentu (but that's so all over the place) - and it doesn't apply to anything below a cruiser.

Re: What are you working on?
Hi Guys, I'm on the 30 day free trial and 3D Coat has the tools to pretty much do everything. By that I mean 3D modeling (not sure full modeling as I have not messed with that part yet) But I did Import my .obj models into it and tried various ways to UV map. The easiest is auto UV map which pretty much does is all. Not the best way mind you, but can be great for simple models boxes, crates, etc. The pro version gives you unlimited layering and all the bells and stuff. But that version is $349.00 USD. The standard version is $99.00 USD, but you only get 7 layers. That does not bother me as I can export the UV map into my Corel Paintshop Pro and work from there. Secondly, you can edit the textures while in 3D mode. Kinda fun on the tutorials provided. Also, adding pre set textures and much more as I only scratched the surface on the whole thing.

GO here and check it out, You can also get a free trial version to give it a spin.

Re: What are you working on?
I’ve been into a modelling spree lately and fleshed out two models belonging to the Unknown Intellectual Mechanized Species, though I intend them to be used as vessels in use by Terran or some other alien factions.

This, of course, is the Defiant Class (name comes from Star Ixiom). You may remember the craft from the bonus game included in the Sony PlayStation port of Galaxian 3 and Star Ixiom.

This is the Danube Class, an original UIMS corvette similar to the Terran Deimos, Vasudan Sobek and the Shivan Moloch.

I’ve only almost started the final touch-ups on the modelling but should be finishing them up in the coming days. Then it’s on to texturing (with PBR assets and heightmaps), debris, turrets and subsystems!

Re: What are you working on?
For kicks I just found use for the ECM Herc:

Every 15 seconds, roll a d3:
1 - Tag 1 enemy ship at a range of up 2000m. Tagged ships become priority 200 target for the Hercs escorts.
2 - Zap 1 enemy ship at range <500m with an EMP of 200 for 5 seconds.
3 - Zap 1 enemy ship at range <500m with an EMP of 100 for 10 seconds.

For referrence: The FS1 EM Pulse missile does an EMP of 300 for 10 seconds. The FS2 EMP Adv. does an EMP of 375 for 15 seconds.

Not planning on making it a player controlled thing but a nice background mechanic for some missions. Events when the release is done.

Re: What are you working on?
Finally got Lost cleaned up/consolidated on Knossos, release topic revamped.  :) Millbear's voice acting is finally in the mod where it belongs, I hope people have the chance to enjoy it as he worked hard.

Now I hope to finish up the successor and then lay active modding development to rest (just bugfix/maintainence after that). It'll be fun!

Re: What are you working on?

"Knowledge" an even smaller minimod. Originally I took it much more seriously as a sequel, even with the idea of it leading to a trilogy of sorts. That idea faded under the weight of reality; Knowledge at this point is a very soft sequel but not much in the way of proper resolution. I like the term 'postscript'. It's something that happened after is all.  :)

Re: What are you working on?
Could you write down what you intended for the trilogy (I didn't even understood what Lost was going to tell me)?

Re: What are you working on?
Well, to be honest at this point I'd rather not. Is that cool? What vestiges of a 'backstory' and 'plot' that remain in the 'continuity' are the remants of a lot of paring down on my part. Any mental drafts that I had of a larger trilogy, though fun to make, aren't 'canon' at this point and so aren't really relevant to understanding Lost/Knowledge in their current forms.  :)

TL;DR: I'm not near the level of Ransom Arceihn but he never did explain Sync/Transcend, that was part of the fun. I'd like to do the same thing here.  :)
