I just now realized that my love of FreeSpace and my ability to sleep at night are not getting along.
But it's not what you might think. I have a roommate who snores, and I can't sleep because of it. Also my parents snore, which is no fun on family vacations. Anyway, I was looking up Noise-cancelling headphones on Wikipedia, because I only just today found out this technology existed (and commercially, too!)... anyway, to quote from the aforementioned article:
Dr. Amar Bose (founder of the Bose Corporation) began work on his noise-cancelling headphones in 1978 on board an airplane. During the international flight, he was provided with a set of headphones from the airline and almost immediately realized how dissatisfied he was with their quality and the loud engine noise. After nearly a decade of research, Bose would release the first noise-cancelling headphones.
Well, unfortunately for any FreeSpace fan, guess who owns the
registered trademark for FreeSpace 3? That's right. Bose.
This isn't a serious observation, just a funny coincidence. [megaphone]Move along, people, nothing to see here.[/megaphone]
