I have a random urge to write a fan fic about the Shivans being dead and the consequences such an event would have on the FS 'verse (Considering the ancient monologues) Then again, I suck at Sci-fi & writing so... I think i'll just let it die off...

I was thinking fairly recently about how the T/V war would have gone if the Shivans hadn't crashed the party.

I think the Vasudans would have been demolished pretty quickly with all the new tech that the Terrans got. Some of it of course had a Vasudan hand in it, but a lot of it was exclusively Terran. Avenger cannons and Tsunami bombs and better bombers and the Herc. The likes of these would have torn the Vasudans to shreds.

They're not required to, but it would be a lot more constructive/ less depressing if they did.

On the other hand, though, some people *really* can't take criticism at all, so leaving people in the dark is about the only thing they can do without any major backlash.

I'm all set to getting myself my very own anvil! I've concluded the table vise I've been using isn't good at all for anything but light shaping. That, and the fact that the face of the striking surface is ruined via raeg means that anything flat hammered against it would be curved.

Just write it anyway. Personally speaking I never regret those things I did even if they were silly or incompetent, only those I didn't.

its easy to get atoms to fuse. we do that all the time. so i look on "we have achieved fusion" with skepticism. what is the rate of fusion? what is the efficiency of your thermodynamic/direct conversion process? what is your laser power? what is your predicted scaling model? this stuff is somewhat important. i dont think laser based fusion will go anywhere, barring huge breakthroughs in laser technology. historically laser tech has been a long drawn out process. it has the potential of being as costly and as time consuming as tokamak based reserch.
