Re: the endless paths of modeling lego ships
That looks pretty cool; doesn't look completely toy-like and out-of-place, which I expected based on the techroom team color tests above. Very nice work.

schrödinbug (noun) - a bug that manifests itself in running software after a programmer notices that the code should never have worked in the first place.

<MageKing17> "There's probably a reason the code is the way it is" is a very dangerous line of thought. :P
<MageKing17> Because the "reason" often turns out to be "nobody noticed it was wrong".
(the very next day)
<MageKing17> this ****ing code did it to me again

<MageKing17> God damn, I do not understand how this is breaking.
<MageKing17> Everything points to "this should work fine", and yet it's clearly not working.
<MjnMixael> 2 hours later... "God damn, how did this ever work at all?!"
(...)
<MageKing17> so
<MageKing17> more than two hours
<MageKing17> but once again we have reached the inevitable conclusion
<MageKing17> How did this code ever work in the first place!?

<@The_E> Welcome to OpenGL, where standards compliance is optional, and error reporting inconsistent

<MageKing17> It was all working perfectly until I actually tried it on an actual mission.

I spot a certain better looking Ticonderoga in the background. Did you put that together yourself or download it somewhere?

Btw very nice work with the cockpit.

Go to da Mantis, create an account, log in to account, hit Report Issue, fill in the info (which should be fairly straightforward for this one), and boom, bug filed.

That radar is super sexy. How did you get/make it?

Re: the endless paths of modeling lego ships
it's a Battlestar Galactica like radar as Diaspora uses
i've just added a freespace-like backround to it together with a bit of recoloring and using the well know radar icons from the mediavps for all the freespace ships
what you can't see is that i've added a custom loop sound effect for the radar and little beeps everytime something appears on or disappears off the radar

If by decent you mean pretty awesome.
thanks for the compliment, but in my world it is Oddgrim's work that adjectives like awesome should be saved for  :P
